This is an extremely important skill to have if you have a baby or have friends or family with little ones.
Matter of fact, this skill can come in handy if you ever encounter this situation in public, as many individuals do not realize that CPR on a baby is different than CPR on a adult. One child every five days is the victim of a choking related death and thousands are rushed to emergency from choking related injuries.
Here’s an excellent video on how to get an object out from a baby who is choking. It’s a very common problem, and many parents resort to calling an ambulance first, rather than aiding directly in the dislodging of the foreign object from the baby’s mouth. These techniques are very easy to learn.
