90-Year-Old Tortoise Whose Legs Were Eaten By Rats Gets Prosthetic Wheels And Goes Twice As Fast

Jude Ryder checked in on her tortoise, Mrs. T, who was hibernating in a garden shed and discovered a rat had gotten in and gnawed on poor Mrs. T’s front legs. After racking up about $1500 in vet bills, Jude was still afraid that Mrs. T might have to be put down.

Then her son, a mechanical engineer, rigged up this sweet set of wheels.1

Now, “She has the run of the garden again and we can always find her because she leaves very strange tracks behind wherever she goes.” 2

Mrs. T goes about twice the speed as before. Just look at her burnin’ rubber! 3
